As the Florida Democratic Party submitted only the name of one presidential candidate nominee, this nominee is then deemed the preferred presidential candidate for that party. Therefore there will not be a Democratic Presidential Preference Primary in Florida.

General Information

Registration

You can register to vote or update your registration information:

If you are registering to vote for the first time in Florida, and/or updating your voter registration record with a name change or change of political party affiliation, you must submit your application by postal mail with an original handwritten signature.

Election Day Voting

Polling places are open from 7am to 7pm on Election Day.

Early Voting

Any registered voter may vote at an early voting site in an election that contains state or federal races.

Voting begins no later than 10 days prior to the election and ends 3 days before Election Day. Supervisors of Elections will designate early voting sites 30 days prior to the election.

Absentee Voting

Any registered voter may request an absentee ballot and vote by mail. You also have the option to drop off your vote-by-mail ballot at a secure intake station. Voters may return up to two other ballots for other voters in addition to their own.

If you do not have any of these identity documents or Social Security Number, you will need to provide a copy of one of the following accepted forms of ID:

ID is not required if you are 65 or older, have a temporary or permanent physical disability, are a member of the active uniformed services or merchant marine who is absent from the county for active duty, or a spouse or dependent thereof, or are currently living outside the U.S. but otherwise eligible to vote in Florida. You can alternatively show one of these documents when you vote to complete your registration.

In Florida, you need to show a valid ID to vote. You can use any ID from this list:

If your ID does not contain a signature and/or photo, you will be asked to show an additional form of ID with a signature and/or photo. If you do not have any of the requested ID documents, you will be provided with a provisional ballot. Your signature on the provisional ballot must match the signature on your voter registration card.
